The 2010 Autumn Arts Expo is on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010
We are holding the Arts Expo on October 23rd at the Brasstown Community Center.
Again the Expo will feature a mixture of an Art Show and live presentations. Take part in the Art Show for just $25 as a member of CCHAC, $45 for non-members.
Performances and presentations are yet to be firmed up but will likely include the Writer's Network again, Hayesville High Acapella Group, a talk on the Craft Economy, and a Green show-home being built in Murphy that will have local artisan input.

Visual Artists, Writers, Musicians, & arts based groups are invited to show and sell their work.
Spaces to be filled in date order of application – i.e., first-come-first-served. Confirmation will be
sent/emailed on receipt of your application.
2010 Membership Dinner is on Thursday, March 11 at 6PM
Have fun supporting and involving yourself in the activities of your local historical and arts organization. Each spring, membership of the Clay County Historical and Arts Council starts off with a potluck and a treat for members new and old. This year’s Membership Dinner will be on Thursday March 11, 2010 at 6pm the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 495 Herbert Hills Drive on Hwy 64 in Hayesville.
Join up for 2010/11 and enjoy a relaxed evening with a recap of the Council’s activities over the previous year, the potluck supper and special live entertainment. This year the Celtic all-girl band Bear Notes shown below will perform.

The Clay County Historical and Arts Council Museum


(2010 dates to be added soon.) The 2009 museum season will start with an open house on Saturday, May 23 from 10AM to 4PM.
From 1PM to 3PM there will be special events including activities, demonstrations and music.
New exhibits this year include the following:
Plein Air Exhibit from Plein Air Painters of Southern Appalachia.
Summer exhibit of spinning wheels from around the world from the collection of Glen and Betty Love.
Larger and improved geology exhibit including gems, rocks and minerals found inClay County.
Fabulous Feed Sacks exhibit - Back by popular demand as a permanent exhibit. Gives history of feed sacks, items made from them, and has a great collection of sacks.

introduce folks from both near and far, young and old to our fine collection of
Clay County History and Arts.
